What does it take to Design and Deliver an Award-Winning, Unique & Innovative Program?

“Hi ma'am, we are calling you from Technical Papers Committee of PMPC, PMI Bangalore chapter. Congratulations! Your paper has been selected for presentation in the conference. You are one among the 12 authors who have got a 45 minute slot for the presentation. Hope you are available during 13-15th July”, the volunteer conveyed the good news.

“Of course I am. Why would I miss this opportunity? I have been waiting for this conversation with you. I confirm my availability for the conference in Bangalore”, I replied, very quick in confirming without even checking my calendar as I did not want them to call the next set of presenters in the waiting list.

Sharing with you the video which has the excerpts from my talk delivered in the largest project management and leadership conference in the Region #PMI conference #PMPC2016 (Project Management Practitioners’ Conference 2016) with the theme "Architecting Project Management for Enterprise Agility".

The top-most thing you need, in order to design and deliver an unique & innovative program, is "opportunity". In order to grab the opportunity, you need guts and courage.

·      You may not have all the answers

·      You may not even know whether it is doable

·      You might be wondering whether the senior leaders will agree with your strategy or not

·      The task might be something complex beyond your imagination

·      And you might not be ready for it yet…

In those scenarios, would you have the courage to take the responsibility or let the opportunity slip through your fingers?

Listen to my story of how I got an opportunity to implement a large scale complex initiative to measure, baseline and improve project management competency globally across HCL Technologies which has won many accolades including the international ATD Excellence in Practice Awards.

Do you like my story? What are your experiences and views?
