What Does the Skyrocketing Interest in Resilience Mean?
Yesterday I submitted an article for Small Business First (their new site is launching soon), where I was talking about how 'resilience' is a bit like insurance.
Just as insurance prepares you for unexpected events, so too resilience acts as mental insurance. After all, it prepares you for what might come and help you thrive regardless of the challenge.
Since COVID-19 appeared, I've noticed an increase in people and businesses interested in resilience. Curious about this, I just had a look at Google Trends which shows interest in certain search terms.
And yep, there we can clearly see a massive increase in the last few months. And no wonder - this time is challenging all of us in new ways, and we need resilience skills to make it through this while also growing from the experience.
I suppose it's still similar to insurance - the concept of insurance also took a while to take off and people slowly started to see the benefit of having that safeguard in place and making that regular investment.
In the same way, maybe this pandemic is finally pushing us to realize that we need to invest in our own resilience as critical mental insurance?
I hope so. What do you think?

4 年Hi Jurie I agree with you. The impact of Covid is said to be long lasting and far reaching across social, psychological, economic and political areas. Wondering how to keep information about importance of resilience maintained without overkill.
