What does a Shiva Linga represent

It is finite representation of infinite pure consciousness and infinite energy combined i.e. Sadashiva or simply say Shiva. This answer is divided into 2 sections: - The first one is based on logic and another one is based on scriptural proofs. First about the shape of Shivling : -Now, Why the upper round part of shivling is pointing upwards, why not down, It is a symbol of shiva. Ling means Symbol.When we read vyakaran (grammar). Pulling --> Male Symbol ( Purush + ling = male + symbol )Streeling --> Female Symbol ( Stree + ling = female + symbol ) If ling means phallus, then what does streeling mean female penis? No, right? Streeling is a symbol of a female.

Shivalinga means the Symbol of Lord Shiva.The lower part is called a pedestal or pitha. The shape of pitha is designed in such a way to drain water in one direction. Hence, shiva linga means the Symbol of Lord Shiva. Shivlingam is the symbol of Parbhrama Paramatma Bhagwan Sadashiv or simply say Shiva. As per Linga Maha Puran :—Linga represents an “infinite column of pure consciousness”. Hence, Symbol of Shiv. Pitha represents “infinite pure energy”. Hence, Symbol of Mother Sakti. Shiv + Sakti = Sada Shiva

According to Vedas and Shiv Mahapuran both, It is pitha ( not yoni ) As Sakti and Shiva are inseparable and one. That's why ling(Shiva ) is always attached with pitha( Parvati /Durga)It's confirmed by Shiv Mahapuran:—Linga is not a male reproductive organ…..As I gave the example of Shiv Mahapuran above, let's see,what does the topmost authority of Sanatana Dharma i.e. Vedas says:—

Jwala lingaya namah means Salutations to him, who has the form of the infinite glorious fire column. Aatmalingaya namah means Salutation to him, who is in the form of the soul of every being. Now, You tell me, how can self ( Aatma/Soul ) be associated with phallus?Tell me, how can jwaala ( fire) be associated with phallus? Only fools associates phallus with self or fire. Right? Hence, It is proved by vedas itself that Shivlingam means Symbol/Mark of SadaShiva or simply say Shiva. Shivling represents the true form of God. There is a point of light at the centre which is the very true form of God. God is a point of light. He is the Supreme. The point of light was too small to worship and hence given a bigger form. Islam believe that God is Noor. A point of light. They visit Mecca, there Holy pilgrimage. Hajar al Aswad, the black stone they worship looks similar.e Soul. Shrimad Bhagwad Gita confirms about the existence of soul. But we don't link the fact that father and son should look alike. We being souls, our father is also a soul.

God Ganesha was formed by Shakti from her own energy and that is why God Ganesha is named in Tamil as Pillaiyar ( Yar pillai ) meaning whose son He is . There is no union of female and male in the Gods as in humans. The other two Gods Vishnu and Brahma married Lakshmi and Saraswati respectively. That is the reason Goddess Mahalakshmi is always at the feet of God Vishnu and Goddess Saraswati is at the tongue of God Brahma.The concept of Lingam as male and female organ is propagated by low minded poorly educated Gurus to show one clan better than other. The concept that God is present in every atom or small particle as mass and energy is proven when some stones from the Himalayas showed warmth under water. The concept of God Shiva as destroyer came from the scientific fact that the Shiva logam (Andromeda galaxy/ unther in Hindi ) partly destroyed Tripuram (Triangulum galaxy ) when it was orbiting and merged its black hole ( creator Brahma ) with its own . The worship of Brahma stopped after this. The other events during this burning of Tripuram. The Shiva logam (Andromeda ) is more than twice the size of Parkadal /Vishnu logam ( Milky way galaxy ) and Andromeda is moving towards Milky way and will destroy it or merge with it .
