What does nitrogen purity mean

In on-site nitrogen production, the most important parameter for nitrogen requirements is nitrogen purity. The purity that can be done in the industry is generally from a minimum of 90% to a maximum of 99.9997%.

It should be noted that the nitrogen purity generally refers to the oxygen-free content, because the online nitrogen generator only detects the oxygen content, and the default content is nitrogen.

For example, if the detected oxygen content is 10%, the corresponding nitrogen purity is 90%;

If the detected oxygen content is 1%, the corresponding nitrogen purity is 99%;

If the detected oxygen content is 0.1%, the corresponding nitrogen purity is 99.9%;

If the detected oxygen content is 0.01% (100ppm), the corresponding nitrogen purity should be 99.99%;

If the detected oxygen content is 10ppm, the corresponding nitrogen purity should be 99.999%;

If the detected oxygen content is 3ppm, the corresponding nitrogen purity should be 99.9997%.

Please note that the oxygen content can be infinitely close to 0, but it can never be 0, so the nitrogen purity cannot be 100%.

Nicky how accurate are the P860 monitors? It is important to specify 3N, 4N and 5 N but hard to know their accuracy.
