NLP can make a dramatic difference to your CV, resume and your interview skills.
Before we start, let me explain 3 elements that I will be discussing in this article to explain how NLP is used in today's age of CV & resume writing.
Well, you would be happy to know this is not something new, CV writers have been perfecting the art of writing captivating, subliminal, inspiring and stimulating content for CV's & resumes for over a decade now. There are a whole number of psychological aspects you can apply to your CV or Resume to increase the effects such as leading the eye to the parts you want recruiters to look at and how you make it stand out.
The first thing we do as creative writers is writing in a way that lets the reader know where we are heading, making certain aspects clear from the start of the process such as job titles and progression in the CV to give clear direction to the mind of a recruiter or the hiring manager.
Create exciting content that leaves the reader wanting more such as concise descriptions of your abilities with powerful market-related language within your field, an example would be if a hiring manager was looking for an HR Director with restructuring experience, you have to understand the market and what restructuring in HR really means. This way when writing about your personal experience within restructuring, we can use matching and mirroring language to stimulate the mind of a recruiter that has this particular need, but be concise enough to leave them wanting more.
Using ambiguous and over the top technical language on a CV or resume is unlikely to work. It will intimidate the reader and cause confusion to some that are still learning their recruitment roles. Using anticipation loops and natural language will help you maintain interest and intrigue.

Achievements, ROI or impact within the CV allow us to sustain the reader's attention for a longer time and create anticipation. We begin with a compelling and concise description of your ability or duties and then guide them along a separate path on your CV or resume by highlighting promotions, progressions or transfers and then bringing them back to your achievements, ROI and impact, creating an anticipation loop and the eagerness to know more.
Before writing any CV or resume, you have to know and understand the market and the mind of a recruiter, as most of the writing derives from that perspective. Taking into account the type of words you want to convey that will make the strongest impact on your profile. Which can put you in the best position to negotiate for a higher salary.
Using NLP techniques can build a certain intrigue to bring you in for an interview. This will allow you to immediately come across as a strong profile with a certain level of confidence. Remember, having a powerful CV or resume will not land you that job unless you can mirror and match your CV or resume, learning to incorporate NLP psychological aspects into your interview that can set you up to start negotiating for the salary that you want.
The result is a strong, powerful and influential CV or resume that will get you far more than the average 6 to 7 seconds recruiters usually spend on a CV before moving to the next. So you need to get smarter as your profile navigates towards the top of recruiter searches.
