What Does My Dream Mean?

People ask me all the time, what does my dream mean? Well, that’s hard to answer because one dream can have two, three, or more meanings. There isn’t just one answer, which is why I only do in-depth dream interpretation by email with several interpretations in different dream categories. Then I allow my client to ponder on which one is correct for them. Sometimes, I’ll receive the psychic message that all the interpretations are accurate.

These Effect Your Dreams

Are you wondering how there can be more than one meaning to a dream? The following three factors will change a dream’s meaning.

Feelings

Your feelings can change the dream’s message. For instance, a cat in a dream will inflict different emotions and meanings depending on whether the person loves or hates kitties.

Actions

What happens in a dream will change the dream’s theme and cause a different emotion. Let’s say you want your boyfriend to ask you to marry him and you have the following dreams.

• If he gets down on his knees to propose in a fancy restaurant, then it will be a happy dream.
• However, you need to examine the relationship if you dream that he smacks you in the face, grabs you by the hair, and yells in your ear, “Okay b*tch, I’ll marry you.”

Life Experiences

A popular symbol in a dream is a snake. Let’s take the following dream:

You look up into a tree and there is an enormous snake hanging from a tree.

Here are two interpretations:

1. A devout Christian thinks about Adam and Eve in the bible. He feels this dream is warning him not to go down a current path because it will bring him evil.
2. This dream would be a nightmare for a girl I knew as a child. I watched in horror as two ten-year-old boys shoved a snake down her pants. This dream could bring up her past trauma.

Of course, more factors will alter a dream’s meanings.

Even a simple dream could have many meanings. The following is from my book Dream Interpretation for the Mystical Soul.

A potential client emailed me the following:

So what happens when you dream about driving down the road and you end up sideways?

Now, talk about being general. Any dream interpreter would need more information. For instance, did the car end up sideways? Did your body end up sideways? Did an item in your car end up sideways?

My Response

Your short dream could have many meanings depending upon your emotions in the dream - very important! The type of car you’re driving, is it your car from today or a past car, what road you are traveling on, and if you’re alone or with passengers? Interpreting a dream is much more complicated than looking up a symbol in a dictionary. I would need more information to do a dream analysis.

Let’s look at three different general aspects of how a dream’s meaning can change in this dream.

Emotions

• Happiness in this dream could mean not to take things so seriously and to view life from a different perspective.
• While feeling angry may signal to slow down to avoid becoming ungrounded.

Car You’re Driving

• A car from your past might mean that you’re holding on to issues that are making your life unbalanced.
• If it’s a new car, the meaning can be a warning you to slow down when you are driving.

Who’s In the Car?

• Driving alone in the car could be symbolic that you wish for more stability in your life.
• Having a passenger may show you that this particular person is causing havoc, and it’s time to take back your power.

The above simple interpretations are just the tip of the iceberg in this dream. Honestly, there can be many more meanings with this short dream using different emotions, the car that’s being driven, and who is in the car. Now let’s sprinkle in what road they are driving on: a road from their past, the route they take to work each day, a country road, a highway, or a congested road with traffic.
