What Does it Mean to Invest in AI?

Dear Phoenix Friends:

There's not a lot of love for AI out there. Optimism, sure. Skepticism and fear, plenty. Fatigue from hearing it all the time? Sure! But if you want AI and love together, you can get it here with Phoenix.

If you're in a technical leadership position, you've probably been asked by your company to "invest in AI." It's such a hand-wavy phrase that it's hard to know what to do. Like "investing in excellence," investing in AI means something different to everyone. Phoenix is that AI investment - an investment in faster development, cleaner code, and more efficient teams.

Investing in AI the right way makes all the difference. Phoenix delivers tangible results by lowering complexity, improving test coverage, and streamlining development workflows.?

Read on to see what’s new and how we’re helping teams like yours unlock the full potential of AI-driven development.?Read on for more!

On the Technical Side

Update: We’ve made a significant leap forward by switching Phoenix to a multi-agent platform, adding a robust and extensible agent setup for our workflows. This change allows us to better coordinate AI-driven improvements, making Phoenix more adaptable and powerful than ever before.

Challenge: One of our most exciting challenges right now is moving to an LSP-based lookup system—a transition that will ultimately replace our Rails Grokker. This shift will allow for deeper, more accurate analysis of Rails applications, making Phoenix even more precise in identifying areas for improvement. While this move comes with technical hurdles, we’re confident it will significantly enhance Phoenix’s ability to simplify complex codebases.

How You Can Help: Have you experimented with LSP-based analysis in large Rails applications? We’d love to hear about your experiences and any insights you’ve gained. Your input helps us refine our approach and push Phoenix even further.

On the Business Side

Update:

If you have game-changing technology at your side, how do you use it? We're at an inflection point with Phoenix as we examine all the ways our customers and potential customers want to use Phoenix. Is generating pull requests the best model? A command line tool? A separate box of tests that keeps you feeling safe? We're examining the best way to evolve Phoenix. If you have an opinion, please weigh in!

Challenge: As we spread Phoenix to more and more customers, engineering capacity is our top priority. We're still a small team but we may not be small for long! For now we will continue to add customers strategically to ensure we grow responsibly.

How You Can Help: If you know a team that’s curious about AI-driven software improvement, invite them to our upcoming event! And if you haven’t yet, spread the word—every share, recommendation, and conversation helps us grow the Phoenix community.
