What does it mean to be "free"?

What does it mean to be "free"?

Let me ask you a simple question, "Are you free?"

For most of us, we're never given a choice. We don't choose to be born and exist, we don't choose the family we're raised by, we don't choose which country or city we grow up in, and a lot of the time, we settle for second best and ultimately live a life of mediocrity, only to be filled with regrets and empty dreams.

Doesn't that bother you?

The fact that the job you have right now, might not even be something that you would choose to do, and you only do it because you have to survive? By that definition, you are not free. You are a slave to the system that indoctrinated you into believing that your life was yours to own.

Let me put it this way.

You come out of the womb crying because you know you're being born into a painful life ahead which you weren't given the choice to accept or decline, you then are programmed to think like your parents because that's the only thing you have around you to understand and make sense of the world. That programming might be terrible, it might give you trauma and pain but you just have to accept it as it is.

You then go to school, where you are taught to be on time, be obedient, listen to those that have more authority than you, complete mindless tasks you don't enjoy, and achieve good grades based on a standard created by the system that tries to make you a modern day slave with no creativity and no autonomy.

At just 18, you are told to pick a degree that will define your future, which will most likely have been ingrained in you by your parents from an early age. You study hard to make your parents proud without thinking too much about what you want or what would make you happy.

You then take that conditioning and go to work a 9-5, where you work hard to create output for someone else who is making their dreams come true (much like you're making your parent's dream come true by studying a degree they wanted you to and working a job that pleases them), while you live pay-check to pay-check with barely any money left to truly enjoy life. You cope by eating unhealthy food and bingeing show after show as your physical and mental states deteriorate.

You then fall in love get married, have kids, and then at that point you realise you haven't had the opportunity to truly live a life that you wanted to live, especially as you live your life solely for your kids. You finally realise that you followed a typical system that produces more modern day slaves as your kids will follow suit in the same system of oppression.

This is why midlife crises are so common because men and women realise that they never had the freedom to live life on their terms as they finally awaken from their mindless sleepwalk from birth to death. They realise that their time is running out, so they get fancy sports cars or get divorced and meet new people, whatever their outlet may be, they try to rush their freedom into existence.

Does this sound like the ideal life to you? It sure doesn't to me.

Don't you want to live a life where you get to do the things you want to, when you want to do them, with whom you want, without regard for money or time? Because that's true freedom.

Now think about your own life as it is right now.

Regardless of if you are a student, just starting work, or deep into it, are you able to do whatever you want to right now? Or are you trapped by the system that never taught you the truth? The truth is that you're living life as a modern day slave, but they made sure that you were in too deep to even realise it before it was all too late...You already have people to please, bills to pay, mouths to feed, and/or car repayments that you can't get out of so you HAVE TO keep playing their game.

So is there no hope?

My entire life has been filled with the same trappings of the system, so much so that I was driven to addiction and the brink of suicide. At that point, I made a choice. If I was going to not exist anyway, I might as well see if I could do everything in my power to break free, and if I failed, then I always had the option to exit the game of life. I truly had nothing to lose, and that's the same kind of mentality you have to adopt to break free from your chains, regardless of your circumstances.

I made the choice that I was in total control of my own life and that I would do everything in my power to free myself from the system. The system that keeps you financially, physically, mentally, and spiritually trapped. The system designed to squeeze you for maximum productivity and then toss you out like a trash bag. The system set up by the wealthiest few in the 1800s, who control the entire world through money, power, and political influence.

It wasn't easy, trust me, but through sheer determination and grit, I was able to achieve what I call The 4 Pillars of Freedom and escape the system, and the good news is that you too have that choice.
