What Does Maintenance-Free Really Mean in New Construction?

Why are you buying new construction in the first place? You're tired of cleaning gutters, fixing garbage disposals and patching a leaky faucet, right?
You don't have any of that in new construction. But it's not gonna be new forever.
So, what does maintenance-free mean? You still have maintenance. You have to change filters. You have to clean. You have to check things seasonally.
You don't wanna plant a huge tree right next to the foundation and be surprised if the roots cause a problem.
I've had clients really believe maintenance-free means I do nothing for the life of the house. A house does not take care of itself.
Why is there a flood in the kitchen? The refrigerator’s ice maker, while you may not think about it, has a filter that needs to be changed every six months minimally, or, at least once a year.
Usually, there's a one year warranty on all the appliances. If you buy other appliances, check.
Read the manuals. It does help.
Clean the gutters.
Make sure that everything, the water isn't accumulating around the house, or you plant flowers too close to the house and expect the foundation not to suffer for that.
I can go on and on, but I think you got the idea.
If you're interested in why you should consider new construction, I have a list right here. Nine reasons. Or you can always give me a call, shoot me an email, love to chat with you and hope to talk to you soon.
