The Great Australian Dream...
According to McCrindle Research, Australians refer to ‘living the dream’ with success in the areas of personal finance.
The Great Australian Dream is to be able to have a lifestyle of our choice and move forward each day towards achieving financial independence. This means that the Great Australian dream empowers each one of us to build safety and security for our family, own a free-standing property that we can call home, pursue our hobbies and free up some time for our loved ones. We should be able to achieve all this without having any fear of regret or dissatisfaction.
Well, traditionally the Australian dream was all about owning a free-standing property in a quarter acre block with a brand-new car in the driveway.
But today, more than 70% Australians agree with the fact that there is a need to have a new Australian dream which is more aligned with their reality. Hence, that means the Australian dream needs to evolve with time.
At present, the Great Australian dream is simply about living the lifestyle of your own choice, having a secure financial plan and peace of mind. Along with owning a property that one could call home; Australians also dream about being able to afford travel and a luxurious lifestyle.
Although ‘living the dream’ can hold a different meaning to different people, but as a community, we all have a common desire to have a safe and secure lifestyle.
