What does a Hospitality Consultant do?

What does a Hospitality Consultant do??

Hospitality Consultants are advisors assisting hotels and food and beverage venues with projects. Projects include managing change, improving profitability, marketing strategy, training and development, optimising operations, and generally improving the business's overall health. Hospitality Consultancy is varied, and a good hospitality management consultant will have the theoretical and practical business knowledge needed to expertly advise on all things to do with finance, marketing, consumer insights, economics and business management.?

Can a Hospitality Consultant support a franchise business??

?At?Laura Anne Hospitality Consultant Ltd , we also offer Franchising consultancy supporting new franchisors with business growth and development. Services include Franchise recruitment and documentation writing, such as business plans, operations manuals, and franchise information memorandums. How do I work with a Hospitality Consultant???

A Hospitality Consultant will discuss your requirements to determine what areas of your business they can offer advice on and improve. This is usually done via a consultation call.?At Laura Anne Hospitality Consultant, we provide a free 30-minute consultation. You have no obligation to work with the consultant following the consultation call. However, following the call, a detailed proposal will be emailed for you to review and consider.?

How can a Hospitality Consultant help my business??

A Hospitality Consultant will help you with the areas of the business you discussed during the consultation. A good Hospitality Consultant will also make recommendations and suggestions to improve business performance throughout the working relationship. A Hospitality Consultant may work with you on an hourly rate or a project rate. They will help your business to improve based on first-hand knowledge and experience. A good consultant will be a professional networker with a 'black book' of contacts; this makes them a one-stop shop for all your business needs. The contact book benefits start-ups as the consultant will have reliable, vetted suppliers for the opening process. Due to the varied nature of consulting, there are many ways a Hospitality Consultant can help you improve your business. A good Hospitality Consultant will present action plans and follow-up reports throughout the working relationship to track and show progress on the agreed objectives.

Can a Hospitality Consultant guarantee improved profitability???

Whilst improving profitability will always be a Hospitality Consultant's priority, they cannot and should not guarantee they can improve profitability. An external consultant can only advise a business; they can't make decisions without the business owner's consent. If the business owner fails to implement changes recommended by the consultant, the consultant cannot be responsible for their actions (or lack of). Therefore, external business consultants should not guarantee improved profitability (in our opinion). However, if you conducted research before choosing who you work with, the Hospitality Consultant should be able to provide case studies demonstrating results for their clients.

How much is a Hospitality Consultant?

Prices vary based on the project and the size of the company. Prices will also vary for different services. For example, consulting services will be more expensive than business coaching as the consultant will be required to do the practical work. Some consultants will also offer a discount for block bookings and retainer work.

Why did you become a Hospitality Consultant??

For me, being a Hospitality Consultant is a rewarding and engaging career. I have a passion for improving the personal skill set of those I work with and the business. In addition, I love working with clients across different business types, from Bed and Breakfasts to Full-Service Restaurants. Hospitality can be challenging, but with the correct support and team, it is one of the most fun and rewarding sectors to work in. When working on projects, I enjoy being part of the team and always take time to understand my client's business and their goals.?
