What does the Graduate Outcomes Survey do for me?
Have you recently received an email or text invitation to take part in the #GraduateOutcomes survey, but haven't completed it? We want to hear about what you are doing now!??
Are you in work? Still continuing in education? Or doing something else entirely??
We understand. It can be overwhelming as a recent graduate to reflect on everything that’s happened in the year since you left LCF. Your responses help to shape the future for LCF students – including those looking to study the same course as you. Share your experience and help to inspire the next generation.?
?
What is it??
The Graduate Outcomes survey is a statutory, national survey managed by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA). Did you look at league tables, The Guardian University Guide or Prospects Career Guides to help you choose where and what to study? If you did, then Graduate Outcomes data would have helped you get where you are today.??
It is the biggest annual social survey in the UK and captures information on the activities and perspectives of graduates. Simply put, it’s your opportunity to be part of the big picture of education!?
?
What will they ask??
The survey will ask you questions about what employment and/or further study you are currently doing. They are very general and should apply to your situation and to your course. You will be asked what tasks you do in your role, please give as much detail as possible as this will help them to understand the level of your role.?
If you are employed and have multiple jobs, you will be asked to provide details of your main job. However - This doesn't have to be the activity you spend the most time doing, or which pays you the most money. It should be the one most related to your main career plan.?
For example, a photography graduate who is starting out as a self-employed wedding photographer but also works full-time in retail while they build their business should select self-employment as their ‘main’ job, as this relates to their future plans.?
?
I’m not employed, should I still do it???
?? Freelancing??
?? Running your own business????
?? Working on your portfolio????
You can still complete the Graduate Outcomes Survey and showcase the non-traditional career routes you’ve taken since completing your LCF course. Employment isn’t the only successful outcome!?
