What Does #EmbraceEquity Mean To You?

With international holidays happening left and right each year, are you taking the time to step back and differentiate what they mean to you? The only way to give these international "days" a meaning to ourselves is if we assign value to them.

Yes today is just another day to some, but to me it's a wonderful reason to celebrate women's accomplishments, goals, capabilities, and much more!

If I were to take a step back and think about what International Women's Day means to me I would say a little something like this:

I'm thrilled to live in a country where I'm free to be an entrepreneur as a woman. Being able to share my passion in talent acquisition and helping Job Seekers get in the driver's seat of their careers is incredibly rewarding. As a small business owner, creating jobs in my community warms my heart. I know I'm part of the economic engine that fuels our country. I'm forever grateful!?

I also want to make note of this year's specific theme of embracing equity because when I see those words, I see progress. We as women have come a long way through adversity over the years. At TalentQ, we celebrate DEI by promoting a diverse slate of candidates for every organization we work with. This is how we make a drop in the water that ripples out to promoting diversity and inclusion in hiring practices, which adds value to our society as a whole.

Although these descriptions are just describing one day, I challenge you to take your own description and let it carry you through every day.

I like to remind myself each day to be authentic, as it is one of our company goals at TalentQ. Be the authentic woman that you are or help the women in your life shine their own authenticity into the world.
