What does effective use of LinkedIn look like?

If you're new here, you might not know this, but I've been on my own personal LinkedIn journey for around 8 years now.

Along the way, I've made mistakes, tested out different ideas & most importantly made some interesting discoveries about what does and doesn't work here.

Rather than gatekeep this, I thought I'd create an (almost weekly) series in which I share those "golden nuggets" with my followers.

I realised recently that since I'm so active here (spoiler alert, that's key!), my nuggets have got lost amongst the mountain of my other posts.

So here we have it, a summary of my golden nuggets (so far) with links to the full content.

As always, thoughts, comments, questions & (constructive) feedback are welcomed.

Nugget 1 - ?? Regurgitating content created by your company doesn’t work ??

Nugget 2 - ?? Your content doesn't have to be (and in my opinion SHOULDN'T be) all about your company/products ??

Nugget 3 - ?? Consistency is key ??

Nugget 4 - ?? Help your team - train them, advise them, encourage them ??

Nugget 5 - ?? Having a diverse network is best ??

Nugget 6 - ??Don't rely on AI - be real ??

Nugget 7 - ?? It's okay to take a break ??

Nugget 8 - ?? Comparison is the thief of joy ??

Nugget 9 - ??Make sure your writing is evenly spaced and easy to read??

Nugget 10 - ? Make the time ?

Nugget 11 - ??Post at a time that you can consistently be available to respond to anyone who engages with your post??

Nugget 12 - ??Spend time perfecting your profile ??

Nugget 13 - ??Engage, engage, engage??

Nugget 14 - ?? Make sure you have an (up to date) profile picture ??

I hope it helps! As always, please feel free to follow along!

Thanks for the golden nuggets, they′re quite helpful! As I read through them, I noticed some "mistakes" I have been making. I have a question I hope you can advise me on; would you recommend I delete posts to ′clean up′ my profile as I go? i.e. to delete posts that promote events that have already occurred? ??

Fantastic article Jessica - treasure chest of golden nuggets there. Love the one about making time to post when you have time to respond and engage - so critical!!!
