What does being part of the Collective mean?

Just what is it all about?
Two very good questions I think, but before answering them, let me just tell you why there is a Collective at all.
The idea came to me early this year when Google’s new Search Generative Experience was announced. As soon as I saw the implications, I knew that my SEO skills alone were not enough to secure success for my clients in this ‘New World’.
Of course, over the past 24 years I have come across a lot of experts and I knew I could turn to any of them to get help for a client, but then I thought, that others may not be so lucky, so how about getting the best of them together so everyone can help everyone so to speak.
Thus the idea of the Collective was born.
It took quite a time to set up, and even now, after many months, is only taking its first faltering steps, but it is there now and it can HELP any business that wants more business and not only in the Digital World of SEO and Search Engines either.
So, back to the question, ‘What does being part of the Collective mean?’
There are many parts to the answer here. Of course, the obvious one is that you have instant access to some of the best minds in the Marketing industry, something that must be considered a Plus.
They will be able to ‘fill in any gaps’ in your skill set, and thus, together, you will be able to help your customers improve their business. This is at the very heart of the reason the Collective was formed.
But the group is far more than that, it is also, for those working alone, a support group, somewhere where any member can find a bit of help when needed and know all of the time that they are never alone in what can be a tough world.
The very fact of its existence is a help, and that is another Huge Plus too.
As for the rules of the Collective, well they are few. In fact there is just one. It’s a simple one, but so very important in the World we all live in.

Just be KIND to everyone is the Group
And if you can, extend this to everyone you meet. I say this as we often see that the World is a terrible frightening place, with its wars and crime, all the time thinking that we can do nothing about it. But I, for one, do not believe that, as if each and everyone was KIND to everyone they met, then the World would surely be a better place.
I look at it in a very simple way. We all live in ‘Bubbles’, bubbles containing all the people that we meet or have contact with, including the that car driver we let in to a queue or that person we hold the door open for. If we were all NICE to everyone we met, then that is the best we can as a person achieve and ‘the best’ anyone can give is surely good enough.
In a way, the explanation above answers the second question, ‘What is it all about?’
But to ensure that the answer is fully understood, the main reason it was formed is that it is my belief that no one set of skills will be enough to win the ‘battle’ for more business in the new Marketing World that AI has caused to be created.
AI in itself is not to ‘blame’ or something to be afraid of, but it has caused a change in the way that Google works and will I am sure, be affecting the process of marketing itself.
That means that businesses will need help from many quarters as one will simply not be enough. Of course the big Agencies have (or purport to have) the ability to offer everything, but their price tags can be excruciatingly high, far too much for the average business to afford.
The members of the Collective on the other hand can ‘do it all’ and their prices, collectively, are bound to be a lot lower, and I believe the service will be a lot better too.

On a final point, the name, the Collective is not going to be our name for long…
This is because as a Brand, it is not strong enough, and as we all know that Brand Awareness is one of the keys to success in this new world of Marketing are in the process of changing it to something that bit better.
