What does a 97% save rate look like?

It looks like Squishmallow.

This 36lb spitfire spent 296 days with us. He’s a dog most shelters would have given up on, if they didn’t have the incredibly supportive community that we do.

We don’t know Squishmallow’s history. He came to us as a stray, with a wagging tail, tippy-tappy feet, adorable smile…and plenty of behavioral challenges! His anxiety, high energy, and tendency to do, well, this:

Turned many adopters away.

So we got to work. Our behavior and veterinary staff, experienced dog walker volunteers and patient fosters helped with his training. Found solutions to ease his anxious behavior. Helped him adapt to home life.

All this hard work helped Squishmallow find an adopter. Almost a year after we first met him, we finally waved good-bye as this cutie-pie walked out the door beside his new favorite human. We wish them the best, and thank all of our supporters who gave time, energy, talent and donations which supported Squishmallow’s long road to adoption. Because of you, we can shelter animals for as long as it takes!?
