While we are heading into a new year, it becomes crucial to think about what that very near future has for us as translators and interpreters. Those who follow up the recent trends and developments of the language and translation/interpreting industry understand that change is inevitable.
Below is a list of translators and interpreters whom I expect to thrive in 2025 according to my recent study of the market:
1- Data Linguists and Specialists: Those who master annotations, tackling AI systems' data, and cleaning information. They are widely needed especially in the field of machine learning optimization.
2- Electronic Sports Localizers: Those who localize gamified sports and check the quality of AI-generated localizations of universal games are expected to thrive especially in the Middle East and North African (MENA).
3- Gamified Education Translators: Those who adapt language according to various e-learning platforms especially those designed for children and youngsters. They are capable of turning dull education into a funny and educative experience for all.
4- CAI-Tools Interpreters: Those who optimize the use of computer-aided interpreting tools in ways that provide them with automated caption generation, professional voice recognition, and glossary building.
