What do your hairdresser, nail lady, and recruiter all have in common?

What do your hairdresser, nail lady, and recruiter all have in common?

They tell us (Recruiters) ALMOST everything. - This is the answer to our riddle above.

"Brian, honestly I can do the job. But I really don't like the location and I will probably look for another job after 6 months."

Or

"Brian, I told them I am happy with a step-down, but I really only want to do this temporarily."

Or

"Brian, the money is not right, I'll take this job and then look for a higher paying salary in the near future.

Yikes!!!!!

If you were thinking about hiring a permanent person, you would absolutely want to know this to factor into your decision-making process.

Thank God we work in a field like Healthcare Leadership where most folks are genuinely good honest people.

But

Candidates unfortunately can say what they need to in order to get a job.

More importantly, they share with us what they typically won't share with you.

I am speaking about HR & the Hiring Manager.

If....and the keyword is if.....you have a recruiter you genuinely believe has your best interest you are in really good hands.

I remember when my real estate agent said,

"Brian, if we tell them they need to offer more than $420,000k they might back out altogether."

I said, "Ok let's do it, $420,000." I didn't sell my place for as much as I wanted.

But I sold it, and I trusted my agent that he was doing what is best for me (because he is a good man, talented, a family friend, and has sold for tons of people I am close with).

A recruiter can save you tons of money, headaches, and being put in the same situation a few months later because they get the inside scoop often!

The number of times I have told an organization, "I think we should pull her out of the mix, it is not right." OR "So, I got him to share with me this is actually what he is looking for...I felt obligated to share. What do you want to do with this information?"

Have a reliable go-between.

Have an Inside Man.

Recruiters (like in any other business) follow the Pareto Principle. They typically make 80% of their money from 20% of their clients.

They want a long term relationship with someone they can trust and have open communication with.

We are in the Win, Win, Win business.

Hospital wins.

Candidate wins.

We win.
