WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND CAN NOT FALL ASLEEP AGAIN?

It happens to all of us at some point, and to some people, – very frequently.
It happens for several reasons: We wake up in the middle of the night or very early morning, and cannot fall asleep again.
What do we do?
We move our bodies to different postures, move from side to the side, drink water, go to the restroom, read, or simply let our controlling mind take over, to start “solving problems in our what if scenarios”. Sometimes, we simply imagine things and accept them as if they were facts. The next day, we react as if it was THE TRUTH. I don’t know why but at night, in the darkness, things get completely out of proportions, and fear and anxiety take over. (Not only children fear the demons at night…)
In the morning, we may be exhausted from being awaked and because the negative stories we told ourselves. Our vitality is low, performance is less then averaged, effective communication decreases, our mood is blue and we are tired.
We may wake up, simply for the reason of going to the restroom, still, it becomes a problem if we cannot fall asleep again right away. We may be negatively affected even when it's not us, but one of our family member who wakes up at night (Partner / Children / elderly parent).
My personal problem:
Lately, I started to wake up at 3:00 am almost every night. I went to the restroom, drank some water, and the struggle of falling back to sleep, became a nightmare. As a meditation teacher for over 20 years, I took myself into an inward journey of calming my body parts, hoping to sink into dreamland out of the blue… Once in a while, I was watching the clock moving forward, getting ready to announce a new dawn.
No doubt I was in a process of a new bio-psycho habit. This spiral of less hours of sleep every night, started to negatively, affect my being.
My solution:
Our UnWindMe mat was intended originally, to taking a nap, or as a deep relaxation platform of 23 minutes. I’ve decided to use it for few hours in very low volume- almost homeopathic. I laid my UnWindMe mat and placed it on top of my mattress. The next night I woke at 3:00, I asked my BodyMind what were my needs: “do I have any pain? Is so, where is the pain? Do I want just to fall asleep or do I also wish to wake up with a better mood? Am I in an anxiety and stressful mental storm?
Once I scanned my mental, emotional and physical systems and got a clear answer of what was needed, I chose a single low sound frequency from my app that fitted the conditions I desired, and streamed it into the mat.
This time I pressed the arrow button in the app, which meant to have the frequency continue nonstop until I shut it.
I lied on the mat. The sensation can be described as inner body massage of harmonic sound waves rinsing every organ, tissue and cell. This is meditation to the cells. The sonic frequencies are not music and not focused on audio/ ears. We are in the middle of the night, remember, no need for music. All we long for are inner conditions of silence in us and around us.
All we wish at night, is to reset, our mental, emotional and physical systems and fall asleep again.
I recommend a whole-body equipment, yet pillows and sonic harmonic pets can do the work as well.
