What Do You Do When Nothing Is Working?

What Do You Do When Nothing Is Working?

What if…

You wake up eager to attend a networking Zoom call where there are many people you have been looking forward to meet for months. You join the call and learn that there will be multiple rounds of small group networking and as you count the people on Zoom, you realize that you could easily walk away with a dozen new meaningful connections. What a great way to start the morning, you think…

Then the screen freezes. You wonder is it their screen or yours. Well, it’s yours. You see a message that says the internet connection was lost.

No worries, you think…I’ll just use my phone. Then you remember that yesterday you had to restore your phone’s system and you haven’t finished installing your email account so you cannot access the zoom number. You find the Zoom ID then enter it, but it doesn’t work. You try your phone internet and learn that it is out too.

Since everything you planned to do today involved the internet you decide to take the couple hours they say it will take for the internet to come on, to straighten up a few things in the house. You turn the TV on as your housecleaning companion and the color is distorted!

Since the internet has gone out several times in the last few months you decide to walk across the alley to a new provider to inquire about their fees because, you decide, it is clearly time for a new provider. You engage in a pleasant conversation to learn that even though the store is across the alley, they don’t provide service for this community. What?? Then why are you here???

OK. You call the only other provider in your community, give them all your information, stay on hold for 15 minutes then, disconnected!?!?!

You call back only to be told that even though your neighbor, just two units down at the same address, has service with them, my unit is out of the area. What????

And it’s only 12:00 noon.

What do you think the Universe is saying?

What do you do?

That’s what my morning was like yesterday. With my day totally disrupted, I decided to go to the market. I wondered what was the meaning behind so many challenges taking place – I look for meaning in just about everything.

It’s unusual for so many challenges to take place at once. It was like coincidences, and I’ve heard it said that coincidences are God’s way of being anonymous.

On the way home from the market, I was a block from my house and I saw a homeless man that is often in the neighborhood. I’ve watched him over the years from the pin in his leg while he was in a wheelchair years ago, to his frequent pandering on the corner asking for help. He is clearly unemployable and once, when I held a brief conversation with him, I recognized an intelligent but confused man living inside.

I decided a few months ago to save all my cans for him. I had collected two bags full along with some crackers and cereal that I wasn’t going to eat. I put them in my car about three weeks ago saying I would give them to him the next time I saw him.

As the Universe would have it, the timing was perfect because the light had just turned red and I had time to go to my trunk, pull out the two bags of cans and the bag of food and leave it on the sidewalk for him. He was so thankful, and his appreciation was overwhelming. I felt his joy and it made my day. It was a real big blessing for me that my small gesture was gigantic for him.

So, what do you do when nothing is going right?

Do you complain and raise your blood pressure? Or do you let it be, work around it, relax and look for the blessing?

Sometimes, just being still brings more joy and abundance than you can imagine. Sometimes things slow down to get your attention. Sometimes you just have to listen to your inner voice. It’s the authentic way to operate.

This is part of what Authenticity is about, allowing the Universe to be in control and getting in sync with it rather than expecting the Universe to get in sync with you.

Here’s to syncing with your authenticity.

Have an authentic day!

With Love and Authenticity,

Norma
