What do you do when the motivation runs out?
Hey team, Happy Monday.
Let’s jump into today’s newsletter.
Now there are many reasons why you may want to get in shape.
- You might want to pass that medical you have coming up.
-You might want to get on that beach without feeling self-conscious.
- You might want to feel more attractive to your wife and have her look at you the way she used to.
Regardless of what your motivation is...
There comes a point when you end up without that “pain” at the back of your mind.
Then what do you do?
What do you do when you run out of coal to fuel your steam engine?
More often than not this is when standards slip.
This is when most get distracted and go back to square one, in all too familiar territory once again.
Being caught up in a vicious cycle is a bind.
So what can we do to overcome this problem and create meaningful long-lasting change?
Great question. Let’s discuss.
Let’s say you want to lose 1,2,3 stone and keep it off.
Let’s say you want to improve your habits and get into a new state of mind with your health.
Let’s say you're sick of relying on quick fixes and want something that will last a lifetime.
The answer here is to create, craft and curate a brand-new normal, so there's no going back, ever.
- Create
- Craft
- Curate
This requires a few key things that I will share with you today.
A quick recap for my new connections and for those that don't know me.
- 7 times British champion weightlifter
- Competed at the world championships
- Dropped 104lbs in weight
- Overcome more life hurdles than I'd sometimes like to share
- Lifestyle coach to high-achieving men who want to become unstoppable
First of all, you want a collection of positive habits that you can stick to that are specific to you.
Second of all, you want to be consistently exercising in a way that fits into your lifestyle.
Third of all you want to improve your mindset towards a bigger vision for your future and those around you.
And you need ALL these three at the same time.
Now that last point can sometimes miss the mark when I say it.
After all, it doesn’t make sense.
Why do you need to have a bigger vision when wanting to drop the beer belly and prevent diabetes/heart disease?
Simple.
Having a bigger vision is a superpower when overcoming life challenges.
You already know that from your experience in business.
It's now time to do that with your health too.
I understand this is uncommon...

But with the obesity crisis, we'd always be wise to challenge “common wisdom" where possible.
After all, we want to be the change we want to see in the world.
Besides...
- The book "The Molecule of More“ talks about the "controlled dopamine" you get from a meaningful future-based goal.
- The Stoics talk about controlling what you can control.
- And also in the book “Loving What is “ Byron Katie talks about accepting things for the way they are.
So whether you cut the cake...
- Psychologically
- Philosophically
- Neurologically
...We end up at the same place as we started.
- Daily habits
- Consistent progress
- A proven path.
My recommendation?
Seek the novel, innovative and transformational.
Look to develop a system that's proven to help you overcome the three blocks to success.
1) Your default path
2) The path of least resistance
3) The territory you're used to and familiar with
Here at The Peak Performance Project, we change 2-3 things each week.
These add up to 20 - 30 individual aims over the course of the 12 weeks.
