What do you do when you have no hungry rugby players to feed?

You cook for the wonderful frontline NHS staff in London’s hospitals!

For the past week, the kitchen at the London Irish training centre at Hazelwood in Sunbury-on-Thames has been busy producing 650 meals a day for NHS staff working in hospitals in the London area.

London Irish’s head chef Bogdan and his colleagues, including volunteers, have been turning tons of ingredients, much of it donated, into a range of tasty meals that are delivered daily to frontline hospitals such as Northwick Park, Ealing, West Middlesex, Kingston and many others.

The deliveries are made by a team of volunteer drivers including London Irish players and staff from Powerday plc, the club’s main sponsor..

The meals have been so well received that the only issue Bogdan and his team have is coping with the extra requests coming in from other hospitals in the region.
