What do you do when a client wants you to boil the ocean on a teacup-sized budget?
Have you ever encountered a client with grand aspirations but with a budget that barely covers a cup of tea? Here’s my advice: tactfully step away.
Not every business opportunity is a golden ticket and not all business is good business.
When clients envision ambitious projects with limited resources, you can acknowledge their vision and propose realistic alternatives within their budget.
But if an alignment on a budget continues to prove a challenge, take a proactive stance. Promote them to a competitor and let them take on the monumental task of helping the client realise their plans.
Remember, If the numbers don't make sense, and you're not reaping a sustainable margin, it's perfectly acceptable to bow out gracefully. Your time, expertise, and resources are valuable; investing them wisely is pivotal for lasting success.
