It's intriguing how deeply ingrained the notion of hard work is within our society. For many of us, it has become second nature to exert ourselves relentlessly in every aspect of life. However, perhaps the path to progress lies not in striving harder, but in learning how to work less and achieve more. It was only when I ceased trying so hard that I discovered a state of flow and entered a life of complete Peace.
The phrase "Suffering is optional" took me some time to fully grasp. Yet now, I see its truth clearly. Every moment presents a choice: to either endure suffering or to forge a different path forward. As the saying goes, "Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional."
Consider this: What if we were to fall in love with pain? What if we embraced it wholeheartedly? If love is what remains when we embrace pain, why then would we choose suffering? The decision lies within us.
When faced with a challenging situation or an unfavorable remark, will we choose to react with anger, or will we seek Peace within ourselves? Suffering is indeed optional, and the choice is ours to make.
Now, let's examine relationships. When a relationship takes a negative turn, the power lies in taking accountability for its state. Remember, a relationship is defined by the individuals involved. If you desire change, you must first shift yourself.
Many stew and fester about their partner's lack of authenticity. However, authenticity requires one person to fully participate. By choosing to be truly authentic, the relationship instantly transforms into a space of genuineness. Will you make that choice?
Letting go of the incessant need to pursue desires reveals that what we truly desire is already within our grasp. It's time to recognize that in many instances, we've been choosing suffering. Now, it's time to move forward. The world has endured enough. Let's collectively release the grip of suffering and step into a new reality—a reality of Peace.
Remember, to whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48). It's our time to act. It's time for each of us to play our part in moving forward.
Peace.
