What do you walk off stage to?

Are you walking off to an overwhelming amount of emotional demons to fight? A frustrated partner? Broken friendships? Unresolved work demands? Other things that you put on the back burner?
Will you come off the stage excited about the life you are living or looking for the next escape?
While I can be the first to say that bodybuilding has gotten me through some really tough times as it provides a way to continue to nourish, move, & focus on your health even when mental health might be telling you it isn't important, the routine keeps you going
BUT, bodybuilding cannot be all there is! I am sorry, it just cannot be. Can you focus on being your best? winning? being a champion? YES of course. While also knowing, winning at life AND on stage is more fulfilling than just winning on stage. When the prep ends, who will you be?
The closer I get to 'retirement' the more I think of how grateful I am that I have a life I love outside of competing. The working out and nourishing of my body will not end, but a lot will change and so much of my life will open up in a new and exciting way that I am grateful and eager to experience!
Even when I knew i would be continuing, I still always had more to be excited about and focused on throughout preps and post-show. I think this is why I have been able to compete for 10 years and STILL feel excitement and joy in the process.
Competing does not define me, it has built me in so many ways and I love serving the community and giving back to it and encouraging others in the sport. But Jesus is where my identity lies and because I have Him, I have enough. This has allowed me to accept what He has for me and feel so grateful for the ability to pursue a sport such as this...what a BLESSING it is to be able to CHOOSE difficulty instead of be forced into it & of course it has given me so much strength and efficacy when I do face challenges
The point I am getting at here is YES USE BODYBUILDING FOR YOUR LIFE!
But also, #BuildMoreThanJustaBody so you can have the most fulfilling & empowering improvement seasons, preps, & life between it all...
