What Do You Value?

What Do You Value?

"I valued time more than anything. I wanted enough money to be able to travel, have fun, and party like a rock star, but still live like a student. That was my motivation."-?Mark Cuban

Reading this quote from Mark Cuban led me to think about what I value most. In today's post, I decided to share some of these things. I hope it stimulates you to create your list.

Life is a sum total of one's experiences and relationships.

I don't believe that life is short. A decade is a long time. I believe that life is precious. Savor your days and make each one the best it can be. Travel and see the world. Travel gives us an appreciation of other cultures, cuisines, architecture, and history. There is no better way to grow and reflect on our lives than through travel.?

Nurture your friendships.?

Be proactive in staying in touch. Friendships are like gardening. They require time and attention for nourishment.?

Keep your mind active.?

Commit to a lifetime of learning and stay sharp. Knowledge makes us smarter, keeps us engaged, and gives us new ideas and perspectives. We all learn differently. Some learn?by reading, by?listening to audio tapes and watching videos, by?writing, by?attending seminars, and by?engaging in conversation. Others learn by just googling information 20 times a day.

Don't believe everything you think.?

Our minds can create fear (False Evidence Appearing Real) and cause us to doubt what we can achieve. Many of these tapes in our minds are old stories from childhood. That was then; this is now. Live your life to the fullest.?

Do what you love.?

What are the things you do where time stands still and you get your most extraordinary sense of fulfillment? Please permit yourself to spend as much time there as possible.?

Never miss an opportunity to compliment someone.?

Share your appreciation by recognizing something they've done or acknowledging something good about them. Simply saying, "What a beautiful smile you have" or "Thank you for all the effort you put into the project" can make someone's day.?AND when you receive a compliment, embrace it and say thank you. Never deflect it.?

Be kind.?

Kindness is contagious, bringing joy to your heart and soul.

Take care of your health.?

Without your health, everything changes. Nature gave us an incredible and complex body and mind. Treasure and take care of them.

Have fun, play,?dance, and laugh a lot.?

It will raise your spirit and give you positive energy.

Your spirit shows in everything you do.
