What do you do on those quiet days in your salon?

One of the hardest things to come to terms with is realising that when you became a salon owner, your role changed. You are so used to doing the hard work yourself and doing more clients to pay the bills you; it's what you've always done. But now you have staff who are quiet, and you are now working to pay THEIR wages as well as all the bills.

What choice do you have... if you didn't work more, the bills wouldn't get paid...

When your salon is quiet, and YOU are busy... the best thing you can do is book out some time for you NOT to do clients.

I know this sounds scary and it will hurt you short term....

But how are you going to fill your salon? If your salon is quiet and your staff are not busy, who is going to drive clients into the salon?

You could do what most other salon owners do and offer lots of specials and discounts, but that is just a short term fix.

I want you to be proactive, not just reactive.

Proactive means you have planned, and you know exactly what to post that will get clients to call the salon. You have spent time getting to know what clients are looking for, and every post talks to them and lets them know your salon is the right salon for them. This is working on future gaps, and eventually, you will always have clients booked in.

Reactive is where you see gaps and react in the moment, sending out posts and ads, that not only DO NOT WORK but actually turns the good clients away. So you end up doing specials and discounts because you know that works, well it used too even after a while if you stay in hyperactive mode too long you start looking cheap and desperate. Most salon owners react too late and end up doing this. And clients see it all the time, hence why it's stopped working.

When you get a chance to really work on your posts and drive the right clients into the salon, then your staff get busy with good clients, and you know that good clients want an expert, an authority to fix their problems.

A client of mine that had a busy salon, but who had a number of staff that could not get booked up on the quiet days decided to jump on a strategy call with me and there started his journey with Lifestyle Salon Coach.

Look at the statistics........

New client retention is around 25%, that means there are 75% of clients that were dissatisfied with their salon choice and are still looking for somewhere to call home.

Current client retention is 76% so 24% of all salon clients leave their current salon looking someone else to help them achieve what they want.

That's a lot of clients moving around looking for an expert to solve their problems, so...

…how can any salon owner say they cannot find clients?

What they are saying is, 'THEY' cannot find clients.

So what have you learnt?

There are a lot of clients moving around and NOT choosing you or your salon? WHY??????

The number one reason is they don't know what you are good at or that you are the salon which is the expert.

I know it's not easy to do this, that's why we created a module for our salon coaching clients because this really matters!

So next time you say yes to a client and not spend that hour on your client attraction strategy, the only person to blame for a quiet salon is YOU.
