Have you been using ChatGPT? If not, it may be worth taking a look. It feels a bit like Google before Google was a verb.?

However, unlike the search giant, ChatGPT presents answers vs. access. When you ask the chatbot — “Can you tell me the average temperature in Toronto for the past decade?” Chat says, “The average temperatures vary throughout the year. In summer, which typically spans from June to August….”?

But what happens when you get an error??

I’m good at navigating Google Sheets, yet some formulas are beyond my skill set. Recently I went to ChatGPT to help me with this and, through several errors, eventually went to a friend whose expertise in Sheets is unmatched.?

I didn’t know what I was missing because I’m not an expert — and that’s the real risk of Generative AI platforms. It wasn’t ChatGPT’s fault that I didn’t know how to construct the prompt or why I was getting errors. Those errors were mine. However, if Google Sheets hadn’t said “error,” I would have moved forward with a broken code, believing that what I had was working.?

You don’t need to be an expert — but don’t pretend you are.?
