The application of high-performance NdFeB in traditional automobiles is mainly concentrated in EPS and micro motors.

Permanent magnet materials in EPS motors EPS have high requirements on the performance, weight, and volume of permanent magnet motors. So the permanent magnet materials in EPS are mainly high-performance Nd-Fe-B magnets, mainly sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets. NdFeB permanent magnets in micromotors have a lot of space to replace ferrite magnets. Except for the starter that starts the car engine, other motors distributed throughout the car are all micromotors.

Previously, automotive micromotors were only used as power sources for components such as wipers, windshield washers, electric oil pumps, and automatic antennas, and the number was relatively small.

Nowadays, automobiles focus on comfort and automatic control, and micromotors have become an indispensable part of modern automobiles. Sunroof motors, seat adjustment motors, seat belt motors, electric antenna motors, starter motors, baffle washer motors, air cooler motors, dome light motors, air conditioner motors, steering linkage fog light motors, electric water pumps, electric oil pumps, electronic air conditioners, speakers, sensors (position, speed, pressure, etc.).

According to the calculation of the automotive industry, each economical car is equipped with more than 30 micro-motors. Luxury cars are equipped with at least 60 micro-motors, and each luxury car is equipped with nearly 100 micro-motors.


Now, bonded NdFeB magnets are mainly used in micro motors and sensors of mid-to-high-end automobiles.
