What do you do?
Following on from yesterday’s post, where I took a little time to introduce you to me. Sharing a little of my journey to be where I am today. Today I’d like to answer the regularly asked question: What do you do?
To answer genuinely and honestly, I should first explain what I don’t do!
We can all be guilty of pigeonholing people into a box based on prior knowledge, experience, or assumption of where that ‘fits’ in our world!?Let me quickly show you what I mean…
When I say TEACHER, you will automatically go to the part of your brain where you remember being taught and recall either a good or bad experience, excellent or poor teacher, to which you will then begin to make assumptions, comparisons, and judgement!
Likewise, If I were to say, ACCOUNTANT, POLITICIAN or COACH.?Your brain naturally filters through all your prior knowledge and experience and quickly begins seeing you through those lenses!
So, when people ask me what I do? I respond:
“I work with conscientious Business Leaders to review, revise and re-engage with a ‘Business for Good’ agenda, enabling them to live (not just leave) their legacy.”
It often stops people in their tracks (if nothing else, because others simply don’t introduce themselves as such) and therefore invites me to share a little more…
“As whilst there are many others, who claim to have a ‘Business Success Blueprint,’ (which often means giving up on any idea of you running your business in the way you intended) in favour of becoming yet another cookie cutter business. We have spent 7 years researching what causes good businesses to fail and have used this data to create an entire holistic methodology that we then adapt to suit the identified needs of your business.?In essence, we provide the missing pieces to your roadmap to success summit.”
Curious?
OK, so let’s break that down a little…

What do I mean by conscientious?
I work best with businesses with a conscience. Ones that want to shape/change/lead within their field. Rather than ones that are ‘just in it to make money’. Businesses that have a clear set of Values.
Business Leader…
My interpretation of this is whilst the leader may also be the owner. They may also not. A Business leader tends to have a team, whereas the owner more often is still the primary fee earner, perhaps with either outsourced support or with a junior who completes mainly administrative functions.
Review, Revise, Re-Engage…
We first run through our #ADDAZERO Audit of the current business to determine what works well and what needs closer examination. Presenting this to the Leader and determining how and where they wish to address it.?Then, crafting bespoke support based on the audit findings to fit the current and future needs of both leader and business. Before supporting them to embed, embrace and enhance their existing business. ?
Business for good agenda…
I firmly subscribe to the WIN | WIN | WIN agenda – A win for you, a win for us, a win for the universe.?Through this, we look at supporting businesses to create WIN | WIN | WIN outcomes within their business. Taking into consideration the impact our decisions have not only on shareholders but stakeholders, the profession, and the environment.
Live, not just leave…
The right time to plant a fruit tree was 20 years ago. The next best time is right now. I do not subscribe to the “Once I’ve…I’ll then be able to….” We enable Leaders to begin living the life they want for themselves from the first engagement and not once they have hit whatever milestone they have set for themselves.
Their legacy
Success is such a personal thing.?I do not want to even begin to assume what they mean to you.?So, first, we determine what success means to you and then work to ensure all interactions and actions are with that in mind.
So let me ask you…
If neither time nor money was an obstacle, what does the word ‘Success’ mean to you?
