What do you hear when you listen for peace?
Yesterday, I stood on the hillside and closed my eyes to pay attention to what I heard.
LISTENING IN LAYERS
Pause, for peace,
listening, yet hearing
loud noises of internal disquiet
anxious for global politics –
the nature of power
seeking voices – where
I have no say.
And yet…
And yet, ears open to
birds calling across the valley,
layers of voices creating
soundscapes of fleeting beauty,
delicate connections
in the ordinary,
fuelling hope for a
different kind of peace.
