What To Do When The Toxicity Hits You

No matter, if they’re referred to in a physical or metaphorical context, toxins, toxicity, or what is considered toxic, are all portrayed in a negative light.

Whether tagged onto a person, job, relationship, or experience, the term has only been gaining popularity in our day and age, for better or worse.

We try to be our best, treat others and ourselves well, and achieve our full potential.

Unfortunately, when things get in the way, they try their best to become immovable objects.

As always though, when that which is uncontrollable strikes, how do we respond?

What options present themselves amid the uncertainty?

As the great character played by Tom Hanks says in the movie Cast Away:

“I was gonna get sick, or get injured or something. The only choice I had, the only thing I could control was when, and how, and where it was going to happen…I knew, somehow, that I had to stay alive. Somehow. I had to keep breathing. Even though there was no reason to hope…And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?” — Chuck Noland

Simply said, but timelessly effective.

Let’s focus on our breath, and see what the tide brings next.

Some people just want chaos, no logic behind it. It’s pure destruction for fun.
