What to do when Facebook Disapproves Your Ad & How to Get it Running As Soon As Possible?

Of course when you launch a Facebook Ad, it goes through a process where it will be reviewed and either be approved and start running or disapproved. However, A lot of people that I know were complaining from the fact that their Ads got disapproved and for no apparent reason especially when their Ads were in the Arabic Language or the Ads' images included Arabic Text. I think it maybe has to do with the Facebook Detection Algorithm and sometimes misunderstandings happen like when we write our Ads in the Common Egyptian Language for example which is quite different from the Formal Arabic Language and you can write a word which means something in your Native Common Language but means something else in the Arabic Language. This can be sometimes the reason behind all the unexplained disapprovals that people get.
So people find themselves getting the following explanatory message from Facebook for why the Ad has been disapproved " Your Ad can't use language prohibited by our ad policies like profanity, harassment, or references to the person's attributes. If you think your ad follows our Advertising Policies, you can request a second review by our team. So they start checking if their ads contain any of these things mentioned above and actually their ads don't contain any of these prohibited things and now the option they are left with is "request a review"

So what to do if Facebook disapproves your Ad ? You have three options if Facebook disapproves your Ad.

Option 1: Editing Your Ad

When Facebook disapproves your Ad, Facebook sends an email explaining the reasons behind the the disapproval so you can check out these details and edit your Ad based on these details. You may edit your text, the visuals or images used in the ad, or the call to action in order to comply with the Facebook Advertising Policies. However, this article is not for these kinds of ads which may contain some infringements but for the ads that does comply with the Facebook Policies and there has been a mistake. This leaves us with the second option which is requesting a review.

Option 2: Request a Review

When you request a review, you're then required to fill in a form and submit it to the Facebook Team explaining in it your issue like what is the name of your Facebook Page, the name of your Facebook Advertising Account, you will need to explain that your problem is that your Ad has been disapproved, and why you think that your Ad deserve a second review and that it complies with their Advertising Policy. Then, you'll receive a notification from the Facebook that they will review your request and that it may take up to 24 hours before they reply.

You'll see this message when you submit the form:

"We'll review your appeal and determine whether your ad has been wrongfully disapproved. Bear in mind that if your appeal is successful and your campaigns are active, your ads will start delivering. Your ad will be in the same status as your campaign if we approve your appeal".

If they approve your Ad, you'll receive an email as shown below stating that your Facebook Ad has been activated and when you go to the Ads Manager you'll find that the Ad is now running.

But what happens if they took forever to respond to your request and you simply don't have the time to wait for their approval and you need to run this campaign as soon as possible. This leaves us with Option Number 3.

Option 3: Live Chat through the Facebook Advertiser Support

Now not many people use this option but I tell you this is the deal breaker here. If Facebook Team didn't respond quickly to your Review Request, you'll then need to contact them directly through live chat but how can you do this?

You can go to this page: https://www.facebook.com/facebookadsupport/ which is the Facebook Advertiser Support Page as shown below and there are two ways to start a Live Chat with the Facebook Support Team.

You can either click on "Send Message" and one of the Facebook Representatives will start a live chat with you as shown below.

Also there is another way to communicate with the Facebook team, you can click on "Contact Us". When you click on "Contact Us", You'll be then directed to this page: https://www.facebook.com/business/resources as shown below. This page contains all the topics that you may have questions about and with detailed guides and answers for these questions, simply select the topic and you'll find the common questions and their answers.

If you didn't find what you were looking for, you 'll then need to scroll down to the section of "Still Need Help?" and click on "Get Started"

You'll then be directed to this page "How Can We Help?" as shown below and for the issue of Ad Disapproval you'll select "Ads".

Then in Step 2, you'll select from the "Troubleshoot" Section "My Ads were Disapproved"

Finally in the last step, you'll be taken to the page below where there are guidelines of what to do if your ad was disapproved and in the bottom right section of the page, you can choose if you still need help and want to Contact Facebook Team through either sending an email to their Support Team or Message them Directly.

We're going to choose "Chat with a Representative" if you want to chat directly and then you'll be asked to fill in the following form.

and after filling this form, you'll click on the "Start Chat" Button and this message as shown below will appear.

And now you can directly live chat with one of the Facebook Support Team telling them your problem concerning the Ad Disapproval and to check out this matter if it took them too long to get back to you when you submitted your Review Request.
