What do we do when we fail?

We all fail once and more.That’s a fact every human cannot avoid. But what do we do then? Nothing but try again is the answer. No way will we stop when we stumble and fall. This is the gut feeling most of us think as right.

Ok then but how? I mean what do we do to get back up? I think the best thing is not to rush back up. We might lose our feet again if we hurry. Down and out is a nice place to be. Better live the moment while we are at it. Defeat is a wonderful chance to rethink and repair ourselves. No easy task doing running repairs while we are on the go. So when we are struck it’s high time to take a look at – not the way ahead but at ourselves.

Don’t we fail because we are weak? Success needs strength. That comes from our bodies. Are we taking care of ourselves enough? When we face failure most of us don’t eat right. Miss breakfast. Cut sleep. Don’t exercise. How can we fight our best in a tough exam or an assignment with our bodies half fit?

Come to think of it. Memory power, attention, focus, interest, organization etc etc need to come from inside us. How can we be on top of these things without a decent servicing of our biggest asset –our bodies. So when we fail the first thing to do is to treat ourselves nice. Eat, drink sleep and rest well would be the order for a couple of days – even a week or two won’t hurt.

Stronger we get to be, better we will be at having a crack at the target, however challenging it is.

Never hurry back to try again, when we hit rock bottom. What’s the point punishing a weaker and defeated self to fight again. You gotta recuperate. That’s what our role models, the stars, ?and even machines do. It’s the time to repair.

Planning might need to come next. We need to take best care of ourselves and do so regularly. Regular means some kind of a plan for our daily action. Setting a plan on eat, rest and sleep etc is no rocket science. Its poor planning that knocked us down, so lets’ get a move on it this time before we get a move on ourselves.

Ok what next?

?We failed.Why did we? Some stuff is macro –meaning beyond my capacities, so little use worrying about it right now. May be with better power inside ourselves we may overcome the challenge. But then there are micro issues, meaning things we could easily change- such as thinking before doing. An assignment need a few weeks of thinking. Last minute work is just useless waste. Next time when the work looms ahead it would help and trust me it will, when we keep about 10 minute a day to THINK ABOUT THINGS. Do so for a week or two and we got A PLAN –a practical one. Most failures are due to rushing at the last minute. Action with little thinking depends too much on luck and chance- a dangerous combo. ?

Think of things that make you happy. That too is one thing we should think when we are floored. Smile brings energy .Finding reasons to keep smiling no matter what, is the way to be – not worrying endlessly about what went wrong. Remember that it’s not the same when we try again. Future is not a repeat of the past. So why worry about something that’s gone.

FAILURE IS THE GREATEST TEACHER, someone said. True that. We need to learn to walk our way to the future.

Walkers fall less. Dashers do.

Ok then what specific things should we do when we face failure?

1.????? Don’t lock the door. Pointless being away from others. It’s the time to do the very opposite. Trust me, all of them have been there where you are right now.

2.????? Pick up on few things that make you happy. Music, movies, games, food, walking, exercises etc etc. Happier feel help us think clearer.

3.????? Stay active. Make sure to do a lot of these actions by yourself, without the need to depend on others. More action per day and easier it will be, to find inspiration.

4.????? Just do not rush to try again. Wait it out. Charge yourself slow and steady.

5.????? Take defeat as a chance to stay away from the rat race –just for a while at least.

It’s time to do the things you love – NOT WHAT YOU MUST.

?And now the most important thing... Find some one to talk to-about whatever that you need to say. That's not too hard if we look around a bit.

Friends do care. So do siblings. So do parents. So do teachers. So do many others...

It's a crazy thing to say no body cares. We all do...
