What do thriving organizations and redwood trees have in common?

Coast redwood trees are the tallest trees on the planet, growing to 300 feet high or more.
But the redwood didn't earn this title on its own. This giant needs the help and protection of other trees in the forest to grow tall and resilient.
A redwood's shallow roots intertwine with the roots of other trees to provide stability during strong winds and floods.
Alone, the redwood would fall. But by merging their roots, remaining linked, and supporting one another, these trees stand tall.
Their existence hinges on mutual assistance and cooperative effort within their environment.
So what leadership insights can we glean from the mighty redwood?
Redwood trees rely on mutual support and collaboration to thrive in their environment.
Similarly, companies with strong cultures encourage mutual support and collaboration among team members. Individuals feel empowered to contribute to each other's success by sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise.
Just as redwoods' collaborative efforts boost their ecological resilience, creative collaboration also builds resilient teams.
Ongoing collaboration equips team members with the resources and skills needed to adapt and overcome obstacles in the workplace.
Redwoods collaborate towards a shared purpose of survival and growth, while organizations with a clear purpose bring team members together and guide their efforts toward achieving meaningful outcomes for the organization.
