This weekend, NorthLink Aviation completed the pipeline tie-in to the fuel pipeline system at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. Pipeline fuel supply is an essential part of NorthLink's development.? This was a small, but extraordinarily important part of our construction because of its technical complexity and the fact that it involved shutting down the fuel system for the entire airport for several hours (which is why it was done in the middle of the night, on Saturday, in February, during the Lunar New Year lull). The project required an immense amount of collaboration and I want to express my gratitude to the professionals at Menzies Aviation, Cornerstone General Contractors, Haskell Corporation and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.? Lots of snow in Anchorage over the last 24 hours combined with not enough freighter parking spots at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. NOTAM issued at 5:30 UTC on JAN 29 (20:30 JAN 28 Anchorage). ANC stopped non-FedEx, UPS and Amazon planes from landing. If you had reserved parking (FDX, UPS, AMZN), you got to land.?If you did not have reserved parking, you diverted (Hello, Fairbanks!). 33 diversions.?16 freighters parked at Fairbanks International Airport - FAI currently.
