What do they say when you are not there?

How much of you do you give to your customers?

When you walk away from people, what are the things they say to each other? How do they describe you?

With the amount of 'noise' out there in the world, it is tough to be seen as great. And by noise I mean ads, social media, radio, television, the internet, email and the water dispenser. The best way still to gain visibility is by word of mouth. People are very happy to speak about how you make them feel. Especially if that feeling lasts for longer than what you are around.

What can you do to become that person that makes people feel good, even when you are not there?

The first and most important step is: be yourself - be authentic. We live in a world where it is expected to showcase our brilliance, our success. We judge people by the clothes they wear, the car they drive and the house they live in. Some even look at the person you choose as your partner. Suddenly we start project this picture. But is that the truth? Is that really who we are? Or are we just trying to impress people?

Stop impressing people. Be true to yourself. Tell people what you really think, how you feel, and what is really going on in your life.

The second step is to respect everyone. It does not matter where they life, what they do for a living or where they buy their clothes. There are people that are so concerned with what the world think of them, that they wear fake watches, clothes etc. just for the world to see their Brand. Don't be that person. It doesn't matter what watch the other person wears. Respect them for the mere fact that they are a human being. If you are one of those people, stop being fake. Respect yourself enough to be honest with you. I always say that you can't give what you don't have. Whether that be love, trust or respect. If you lie to yourself, you don't understand self-respect. How will you ever be able to respect anyone else?

Thirdly: ask if you need help. And more importantly - if someone asks for your help, give it to them.
