What do people say about you when you're not in the room?

Personal branding comes down to two important views: how we see ourselves and how others view us. A Venn diagram I found illustrates this beautifully, showing personal branding as the area where these perspectives meet.
Personal branding is more than just knowing yourself and showing that to the world; it's also about shaping and understanding how others perceive you. It's at this intersection where your personal and professional image truly aligns, telling an authentic story about who you are in your career.
This overlap matters because it's where you build real credibility. It turns your story into one that others can believe and connect with. When your personal brand is well-developed, it not only reflects your self-image but also reaches out to meet the values and needs of others, building trust and opening doors along the way.
Does your personal brand capture this crucial intersection? What successes or struggles have you had in aligning your self-view with how others see you? I'm eager to hear how you've navigated shaping a personal brand that captures the essence of both these perspectives."
Great share, Karin!

8 个月Love this Karin. Too often we forget we are how others see us more so than how we see ourselves. A trick I learnt was to ask others what are 3 words that spring to mind when I join a call, walk in room or come to a persons mind. Good, bad or indifferent this is my personal brand in a nutshell
