What do these Nordic tech companies all have in common?

You may recognise many of these logos and perhaps you're a happy customer-consumer of their products and services. Lucky you!

I've had the privilege since 2017 to play an integral role within a consortium called Nordic Scalers, powered by Nordic Innovation, whose mission is to make the Nordics the leading hub for scaleups.

These are a selection of the companies who've participated in our scaleup program and, through these, I've come to understand what makes them similar, tick, and exciting to watch.

First, they all have extremely ambitious founders with clear visions for the problems they're solving in the world. They've also done a great job building strong entrepreneurial teams around them and empowering them to drive the company forward with strong leadership and execution plans. They simply have what we call "A-Teams".

As such, they're (a) all growing their segments and revenues faster than most, (b) finding scalability in their business models, and (c) subsequently creating a higher degree of 'freedom' to test and invest in their technology offerings without breaking the core.

Despite this, what has impressed me the most is their eagerness to invest time in programs such as Nordic Scalers in order to get outside help and advice, more structure to scale faster, and a context to share and learn with likeminded entrepreneurs.

They've understood the power of continual learning and development as a means to reaching their goals faster - prioritising the important items over the urgent - without falling into the trap of we're too busy right now. Essentially, these teams don't let busy get in the way of what they're trying to achieve.
