We are often asked, "Help! What do I wear to a .... [fill in the blank]", so we have created a series of articles addressing the most frequently asked styling questions. The first in this series is "Help! What do I wear to a two-day business conference in DC?". We hope this is helpful. Enjoy!
So you have an upcoming conference in DC (or Boston, or Chicago, or another location). What should you wear to travel, and what should you pack in your carry on?
Here is our advice.?
1. Be Versatile: It's essential to curate a selection of items that can mix and match, so that you can pack less.
2. Pack wrinkle resistant fabrics. Always opt for fabrics that will look neat after a long flight or a long panel session. Steaming clothing in your hotel room is stressful and not necessary with our picks.
3. Pack at least one bright color. Wearing color stands out; when networking, wearing a bright color is key to making a memorable impression.
4. An easy way to change your look is by packing one extra pair of shoes and a variety of jewelry.?
5. Pack no run stocking for chilly weather: our favorite brand is commando, available on our website.

Insight to navigate the business of fashion|Author "Dress Like You Mean Business"
1 年I'll add my two cents. Think about the nature of the event. Is it very conservative or not? Do you need to mirror the attendees or can you show some individuality? Keeping the garments conservative but splashing out on color often fills the bill. When the conference is over nothing remains but the photos. Will we see YOU in them because you thought to wear a red or cobalt blue dress or jacket? Or will you blend in with the crowd who all wore black to be safe? You really are "costuming" yourself for achievement. And if you have to climb steps and/or walk across the stage, make certain your shoes won't trip you up! Practice ahead of time if need be. Hope this helps!
