What do I include in an investor pitch?
At Crowdcube, this is perhaps the most common question we hear from entrepreneurs. Of course, there is no single answer.
However, like any sales pitch, a good investor pitch almost always tells a story. Here are a few key points to include in your story:
1. Discuss the problem the world is facing.
2. Introduce yourself and your company/product (the solution).
3. Tell them about your magic power. Show how your solution works - what makes it special, and why is it of value to customers?
4. Expand - outline the adventure you are going on. Discuss the business model and go to market strategy. You may also want to include data on growth in your market segment.
5. Ask for the help of investors - can they fund your (ad)venture? Explain how the funds you are raising will be used. Finish with a statement on your long term vision (make sure it is big!) and a call to action - invest and join us!
Crucially, remember... in most cases, the key takeaway for your target investors should be the answer to the question: "How will this make money?"
If people believe that part of your story, then you'll all live happily ever after ;-)
