What do I Actually Do?

What do I Actually Do?

What's Up Internet?! There are many titles that I hold. Firefighter, Fearless Leader, CEO, Presidente', Brother, God Father, Uncle & Friend. The most important thing to know about those titles is that no matter what you call me, I care about you. I've surrounded myself with family. Some may say that it's not a good thing but I say my circle of trust is stronger than yours. You'll be able to meet them all via a little website called YouTube. Just in case you don't know too much about me, I started in this business back in 1997, when I was in High School, Go Hawks! I've done every job within our family business from breaking boxes and sweeping shop floors, to putting inventory on shelves, customer service, billing and eventually the service manager seat. Fast forward to 2018, my role has once again changed! I've done something my father always wanted to do and that was break free from the service desk. It was not an easy transition and I felt a little lost the past year or so. Today, my mindset has taken a different course and I'm super excited for this opportunity. So, what is it that I do? Great question! Here's my focus:

1) People. I've begun doing one on ones with our office AKA care team to better understand what they are going through each day, how I can help and what improvements they believe will help us be better. I also want to know more about them on a personal level. Goals, Dreams, Aspirations! Even though I know many of them pretty good, I really want to know what they want out of life.

2) More People. I do quarterly Technician meetings and have begun doing small dinners with 2 at a time to get to know these Food Equipment Service Heroes a little better, find out what makes them tick and let them know that they're important to me. When our new site is live, you can visit to read up on our Core Values along with our Mission & Vision Statements. www.MalachyCares.com < Coming Soon! 2018

3) Sales. As we position ourselves in the New Jersey market to be the LEADER, which if you ask me, we already are ;) I'll be the force behind behind the way we approach our customers, new and old. The number one thing we are "selling" is CARE. A four letter word that is becoming our mantra. When you call, the first thing you will hear is, "Malachy Cares". It's new. It's simple. It's real. Selling was never something I thought I'd do but I realize we sell ourselves everyday, everywhere we go. Every call, every meeting, it all goes back to being genuine and connecting with our customer. For me, that's just natural. I'm not a salesman, I'm a good old jersey boy that wants to help people keep their businesses running. We've expanded! We've gone from 8 technicians to 16 technicians in a relatively short period of time. Along with more manpower, we also have expanded our services: Commercial Cooking, Refrigeration, Dishwashing, Food Prep, Beverage, HVAC & Exhaust hood > Repairs, Maintenance, Installations & Parts!

4) Media. If you haven't seen yet, please, please, please go check us out on ALL social platforms: 1) FACEBOOK INSTAGRAM TWITTER RICH MALACHY >>> In January, I began to build our media department and put a big focus on building our presence as a company and a brand. With the launch of our YouTube channel, we are looking to connect with our customers, dealers, reps, manufacturers and basically anyone that wants to connect and engage. I want to make it personal. One day you will know us. One day you will call. We will answer! (Starting a Podcast called "The Care Factor" this summer, if you want to be a part of it, message me!)

Oh yeah, I'm also involved in the operations of the business from service, dispatch, billing, warranty and key accounts calls, shipping/receiving, manufacturer partnerships, OEM parts distribution through several channels and some other details I won't bore you with. I also give time to CFESA. I'm planning on being a co-chair for the business trends committee. If you know me, reach out anytime, I want to build, grow and help you in any way. If you don't know me, don't even think about contacting me... JUST KIDDING! If you DON'T know me, definitely introduce yourself and if I can be of any help, I'm always down! If you made it this far, thanks so much for reading! PEACE!!

Great to hear a jersey success story told with such passion
