What to do this Fourth of July in the Tampa Bay area

Looking for fun things to do this Independence Day? I found quite a few different events in the Tampa Bay area and thought I would share them with you. This year, the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday. Not only are there lots of activities including fireworks on the Fourth of July, but the weekend is packed with other activities too!

Here are some of my favorites.

Pinellas County

*St. Petersburg will have a spectacular firework display at St. Pete’s Spa Beach Park at 615 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg around 9 p.m. Click here for more information.

*Gulfport will also have fireworks around 9 p.m. at the Downtown Waterfront District near the Gulfport Casino. Earlier in the day there will be festivities for all ages. Click here for more information.

*Largo Central Park will kick off their festivities on July 4, at 6 p.m. and have fireworks around 9:15 p.m. There will be vendors, live entertainment, inflatables for the kids and contests. Click here for more information.

*Craig Park in Tarpon Springs will have a picnic in the park on July 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. located at 100 Beekman Way, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689. Admission is free. Click here for more information.

*Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater will have fireworks on July 4, around 9 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m. with lots of vendors and entertainment. Admission is free. (301 Drew St., Clearwater, FL 33755.) Click here for more information.

*Safety Harbor will have a parade and fireworks on the Fourth of July. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and goes to noon. Gates open for the night event at 5 p.m. and fireworks around 9 p.m. All in downtown Safety Harbor. Click here for more information.

Hillsborough County

*The Florida Aquarium in Tampa will also have a July 4 celebration. They extended their hours until 9:30 p.m. so people can enjoy the facility and watch fireworks at night. They are also offering a fireworks cruise on a 72-foot catamaran while enjoying delicious hor d’oeuvres from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Click here for more information.

*Temple Terrace Annual Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks. It starts at 10 a.m. and goes until noon. It will start at the corner of Whiteway Drive and Gillette Avenue. The evening festivities will start at 6 p.m. There will be food vendors, live music and other entertainment. Fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Click here for more information.

*Tampa Riverwalk in Channelside at Cotanchobee Park there will be live music and a “Southern Hospitality” food court and exhibits of local artists, jewelers and craft designers. Admission is free. It is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free. Click here for more information.

*Plant City Stadium will have fireworks at 9:15 p.m. There will be various activities starting at 6 p.m. including inflatables, face painting, balloon art, corn hole, kid crafts, rock climbing wall and more. It’s $5 per car. (1810 East Park Road, Plant City.) Click here for more information.

*Skate to Top 40 Music at Skate World Tampa for $1 if you are wearing red, white and blue. Regular admission $6. Skate from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Also $1 games of laser tag. (7510 Paula Drive, Tampa, FL 33615.) Click here for more information.

Fireworks at Sporting Events

Clearwater Threshers take on the Tampa Yankees at Spectrum Field on Monday, July 3 at 6:15 p.m. Following the game there will be spectacular fireworks. All weekend there will be games and an all you can eat brunch on Sunday for $16 which includes game ticket. (601 Coachman Road, Clearwater, FL 33765.)  Click here for more information.

Dunedin Blue Jays are offering FREE admission at their game on Monday, July 3 at 6:15 p.m. when take on the Daytona Tortugas at their Stadium Florida Auto Exchange. There will be fireworks after the game. Check the schedule because they will have games all weekend their field. (373 Douglas Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698.) Click here for more information.

Tampa Yankees will have a game on Tuesday, July 4, against the Fort Myers Miracles at Steinbrenner Field. They will have buy one get one burgers all night! Fun begins at 7 p.m. and fireworks after the game. Police officers and emergency personnel along with military get in free. (1 Steinbrenner Drive, Tampa, FL 33614) Click here for more information.

Tampa Theme Parks with Fireworks

Bush Gardens has their Summer Nights with fireworks every night and they are open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. On the fourth of July, they will have a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Tampa favorites the Actual bank Robbers will perform on the Gwazi Park main stage and host a live Summer Nights Dance Challenge. Open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the Fourth of July. Click here for more information.
