Before coming to various types of digital marketing, let me tell you that basically, there are four types of format in which digital marketing is done.

• Text Form
• Video Form
• Audio Form
• Image Form

Now, let’s start with Digital Marketing Types:-

1.   Search Marketing

Search Marketing simply points to the search process done by people. Whenever you search for something on any search engine like Google then, with respect to your search keyword, whatever you see on your screen is nothing but search marketing.

Search Marketing further includes:-

• Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – It means generating organic traffic to your website or blog by targeting specific keywords.
• Search Engine Marketing (SEM) – Its basically buying a search space for your website or blog in order to show it at the top of the page.
• Pay Per Click (PPC) – PPC lies under the umbrella of SEM only. After the space for your website has been bought (SEM) now, whenever somebody clicks to your website link (which is an advertised link) then you will have to pay some amount for each click.

2.  Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing means exploiting social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. for marketing. Here, you will run campaigns with some specific objectives & by selecting the combination of attributes like location, interests, age, sex, and various other demographics for pitching your target customers. This is one of the most effective digital marketing types as it allows to get customers from social media where a huge crowd is present. This digital marketing type has great potentials.

3.  Content Marketing

If you are using a valuable piece of content to grab the attention of the viewer & in that content you are promoting your products or services in one or other sense, then it’s Content Marketing. Here, you try to add value by the genuine, informational & helpful content and then once the viewer builds the trust you start with your products or services marketing. Its the smartest marketing type.

4.   Affiliate Marketing

This is a type of digital marketing where you go for collaborations & promotions and hence pay for the same. Basically, you collaborate with someone who either has a good traffic for him/her own website or who is an influencer. Next, you say them to promote your products or services directly (by telling to use it) or indirectly (by leaving a link as the best product or service to go for). In return, you pay that person or group for acting as an affiliate marketer for you.

5.  E-Mail or Message Marketing

This is the most used digital marketing type. In this, you firstly develop a content that’s relatable, informative, catchy, valuable & hence highlights about your products or services. This content will touch the problem of viewers with your products or services as a solution. At last, you simply put that content in mail or message formats & send it to potential customers. This way you target your market. It’s very useful if you have good copywriting skills. Even if don’t then also simply with it & you will improve automatically.
