What to do and not to do on day 1 after your break

How excited are you to get back to work after your summer break?
One?study?found that "health and wellbeing improve during vacation, but these positive vacation effects fade out within the first week of work resumption". Even so, the same researchers noted that vacations "may act as a buffer against future stressors".
While you may feel less than your best on - Day 1 back at work - or even Day 10 may not have you feeling your best yet, there are certain things you can do to leverage your Performance Energy ? to help get to your best sooner.
Your inner energy is one of four ingredients to getting the best of yourself.
This is the energy you get by doing things that matter, are meaningful and are essential to you.
Here is one thing you could and shouldn’t do to boost your inner energy and get you in your groove for a successful 2025 on your first day back at work.
Don’t open your emails and get stuck into everyone else’s priorities.
Do start the day in a different environment. Outside on the deck, at a cafe, or in a different room than your home office.
