What To Do Before Going Six Feet Under
As uncomfortable as it may be to talk about, very well keep in mind, we all have an expiration date.
We have no idea when that date is, as it is not included on the label attached to our life.
And yes, this is quite a deep and personal topic, but it is important for professionals like us to keep it in mind from a workplace and career perspective.
Gone are the days of the majority of people being with one company or organization for an entire 40-50 year career, so being more present in your decision-making between your professional and personal life is essential.
When all is said and done, many of us are sucked into the traps of:
“Oh, I’ll do it tomorrow.”
“Maybe I can do that next year when I have more time.”
“I’ll make that career move, start that business venture, or cross that thing off my bucket list when I am able to.”
Unfortunately, for many people, “tomorrow” sometimes will never come, and they either will have hindsight regrets at the end of life or when they least expect it, that expiration date pops up.
I also know it is easier said than done for a lot of people to achieve what they truly want.
They want to continue climbing the corporate ladder.
They have a family to provide for.

They finally have a safety net of benefits, a good salary, and a solid means for their lifestyle.
And if you are satisfied with that, please by all means stick to what you are doing.
But, I know many people are looking for something more.
Something that will free them from the lack of fulfillment they feel in their life.
And recently, the question of, “What if this were my last year?” has helped me in my decision-making.
Because, as morbid as it is, it is the shadowy truth we all face.
So, I say to you, before going six feet under, consider if the current path you are on is taking you to where you really want to go.
If not, what can be done in your power right now to help get you to your goals in the lowest amount of time?
Life is short.
Dare to dream, face discomfort, and achieve what you genuinely want to.
And most importantly: have gratitude towards what you have had in your past and present to help align you to that ideal future.
You got this.
