What does advice actually mean!

In the process of growing up, we never run short of receiving advice and never get tired of giving them too! What does advice actually mean in real life? My learning from receiving and giving advice are as below (others might have different learning and I would be happy to hear them too).
1) Chose a work you love and you will never have to work another day - It means love the work you chose to do or you end up doing. You need to have an attitude of picking up a task and excelling in it. It also means that you need to be passionate about succeeding in whatever comes in your way. What we love to do is generally a hobby and hobby hardly fills empty stomach.
2) Find work life balance – Its more to do about setting your priorities daily, and remaining focused on delivering on the same. It means that you don a different hat while in office and home. You need to switch over seamlessly in respective roles, while getting into respective territories. Simply put, set priorities to avoid distractions.
3) Choose your battles – It means avoid ego battles at all cost, for the rest, prepare well and fight out with conviction, irrespective of the outcomes.
4) You fail when you quit - Take ownership of situation that you are in, don’t play victim card.
5) Don’t lie to yourself – You need to be truthful to at least one person in your life and that one person has to be you. Once you are truthful to yourself, you become humble, you learn and change yourself basis daily experiences, and you start becoming better person, each day.
6) Be the change you want to see - That subtly means, practice before you preach. It also means that, rather than becoming revolutionary, try being evolutionary.
You would always receive abundant advice, you succeed, when you get the essence of it and inculcate it to your day to day life.
Other thoughts and inputs are welcome.
