What do 10 years of work on Artificial Intelligence & Dyslexia look like?

This work is dedicated to all the individuals struggling in their day-to-day lives, just because they are different!?

TL;DR

Our team at Dystech has reviewed 10 years of scientific work in artificial intelligence & Dyslexia. Here is what we found.

Dyslexia & Artificial intelligence: what's up?

Accurately diagnosing dyslexia is a long-standing topic of research for the neuroscience community. Till now, the diagnostic is mainly delivered by accredited professionals, based on the scoring of a diverse battery of tests.

From another viewpoint, in recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has made tremendous progress: it is now used in our day to day life, from face recognition to natural language understanding, through to driverless vehicles.

The medical field is not an exception: many AI-based applications provide accurate support to clinicians, and it is expected that much more will come in the future. It should not be a surprise that some scientists investigate how AI could improve dyslexia diagnosis.

At Dystech, this is our mission, working on developing reliable technology to assess the likelihood of dyslexia. Ultimately, providing education equity around the world with affordable and accessible assessment technology.

In our effort of transparency, belief in the scientific methods and love for artificial intelligence, we have reviewed 10 years of scientific work in the field of AI & Dyslexia. Explaining the pros and cons of AI, who is doing what, and the potential for the future of learning differences.

Download our white paper here.

Feel free to share this with your academic colleague, policymaker, dyslexic association, or parent with dyslexic children.
