What are the Different Types of Curtains and Blinds

Curtains and blinds are used to offer privacy and block out the sunlight either partially or completely. However, curtains can have other uses as well. Curtains come in different materials, shapes, colors, textures, sizes, patterns, uses – like to decrease the ultraviolet light, decrease the oil or dust, absorb noises, fire resistance, cleaning ability and virtually there are so many options when one wants a curtain.

Types of curtains

• Curtains are either flat panel that consist rectangular or square pieces of cloth which is hung from curtain poles or clip on rings.
• Grommet curtains are hung when the curtain pole is threaded through the top of the fabric.

Different kinds of blinds

Pleated shades – Where the material folds in pleats when it goes up and when it is down it is unfolded. These are different from roman blinds as these have sharper pleats whereas roman blinds have rounded folds.

Aluminum blinds – These not only are used to block out the heat but they also control the light entering the room. These are extremely durable in nature.
