Marketing is the fuel required for running any business smoothly. It helps you in propagating your brand to the right audience, increases the buzz of the brand & also helps you to increase sales.?
We are in 2022 and marketing is changing. Brands are not doing the conventional things they used to do in the 1990s. It is becoming different, in this Newsletter, I will try to tell you some major differences between Traditional Marketing & Digital Marketing.?
Differences Between Traditional Marketing & Digital Marketing
When we talk about traditional marketing, it includes radio, television, newspapers, magazines, cold calling, and many other means where we have to penetrate our brand using these communication channels.?
In digital marketing, we have different social media, Email marketing, Paid Search & Social Ads, Search Engine Optimization, and many other different things.?
There are many differences about which we will be talking, but the major difference is ways of communication. When you look closely, you will find that traditional marketing is one-way communication while digital marketing is two-way communication.?
Feedback from Customers - Suppose you are advertising your product on TV, Radio, or newspaper. Those companies can give you data on their number of visitors or number of subscriptions but you cannot get feedback on your ads directly from the customers. In digital marketing, you can easily get your customers' feedback. When you get feedback, it is much easier to improve the product or service quality & relaunch your brands with much awareness about customer needs.?

Niche Targeting - Traditional Marketing is still good for reaching the masses as TV viewership is still there but with the rise of Android TVs, types of ads are changing. In Digital Marketing you can reach to your target audience with a limited budget. Suppose you are advertising a very specific niche, it is always good to go with Digital Marketing as you can target precise data, in traditional marketing this is not possible.?
Data Analysis - Toady's marketing is all about data. Suppose you have browsed some product on any website and returned without purchasing, using digital marketing data-centric ads (remarketing), that company can show you that browsed products all over the internet for days. It increases sales for sure. It is kind of impossible in Traditional Marketing.?
Ads serving - Traditional marketing serves the same ads to everyone watching that TV channel but when you are watching the same show on any OTT platform ads will be served according to your internet history.?You can play cricket matches on Hotstar and check different ads are coming on different login devices.?
D2C Products Success - Why D2C companies are witnessing massive growth? When you analyze their strategy, you will find one thing in common and that is their strategy to launch one product, listen directly from customers, update the product and relaunch again. Constant innovation is happening but that is again a very slow process in Traditional Marketing. You have to do many surveys and it will take huge time.?
Community Building - I have never seen traditional marketing doing community building but recent developments in digital marketing are building community first and then pitching the product.?Bewkoof & Boat-like companies built their empire, building community. It is very common now with the leading Brands as well.?
